The Philips Respironics DreamWear is a very unique mask. We almost consider it a hybrid between a nasal pillow mask and a nasal mask. It is just like a nasal pillow mask with the exception of one thing….there are no pillows!
No pillows is a good thing. Nasal pillows often cause pain just inside of the nose because of contact with your sensitive skin there. This just rests under the nose with one hole that covers both nostrils. You barely can even feel it there.
The DreamWear also does something that is an improvement in design over all other masks. The tube connects on the top of the head. No more do you have that feeling that you’re being pulled around by a leash. The tube can pull on the top of your head and it’s not going to dislodge the mask from where it needs to be…on your nose.
The headgear is easy to get on and off for night time bathroom runs. It’s also simple in design, yet unique in that the air can travel down both sides of the mask since it’s hollow. Air is going to get to your nose regardless of you sleeping on your left or right side.
Another nice thing about the DreamWear is that each package comes with three sizes of headgear and three sizes for the nasal cushion. Get one and you can mix and match until you find the perfect fit.
Our stance: This is one of our favorite masks that we’ve ever tried. It performs extremely well. We thing that this mask is worthy of being tried first if you are new to CPAP.
