PAP Mask: Resmed Mirage Softgel
PAP Machine: Resmed Airsense 10
Humidifier: Airsense 10
Pressure Setting: 9

I am using a Mirage Softgel Mask Nasal Mask on a Resmed Airsense 10 machine. I like the mask most of the time. However, when I need high humidity, it is really loud. I have tried to adjust the humidity and tube temp without success. If I don't increase the humidity, I end up awake in middle of the night because sinuses get inflamed. Is there a similar mask that is quieter at high humidity? Is there another solution? I use saline solution with some benefit, but still having issues.

What kind of noise is it making?
Any water or condensation going on?

It makes a clicking noise. The only moisture is right at the defuser.

I have replaced the mask a few times (with same model), and the noise continues.

Is the clicking noise present immediately at the beginning of the night or does it happen later on in the night?

I am trying to figure out if it is moisture related.
Moisture can cause clicking noises.

Is the clicking noise for sure coming from the mask or is it coming from before the mask...like in the hose?

You say "diffuser" but are you meaning what we would normally call the vent holes? Does it ever give you a bit of a cold shower?
If it is in the hose changing to a different mask probably won't help.

Thank you for your response. The clicking noise does not come until later in the night. I believe the noise is moisture related. I am fairly sure the noise is coming from the diffuser / vent holes. It does not give me a cold shower. I hear the clicking noise even if there is little to no moisture inside the mask, though the noise goes away if I keep the humidity setting low.

Do you have the heated hose?
If so....what temperature do you have it set at?
What is your ambient bedroom temp?

Sounds like some condensation is forming and it might even me from the moisture in your own exhaled breath.
The least little bit of moisture can make an awful racket.

I don't blame you for not wanting to reduce the humidity setting....I wouldn't either. There are other ways to try to prevent condensation though.....increase the hose air temp, hose cozies, increase bedroom ambient temperature.

I appreciate your input. I have the tube temp at 80f. The room is generally 67 to 70. I removed a cozy recently. I wasn't sure if it made a difference, given I have heated hose.
