I bought a Contec CMS50F Pulse Oximeter and wore it for the first time last night as I'm trying to collect as much data as I can prior to my next review appointment.

I made sure the clock on it and my APAP machine were matching and set it to record just before switching on my APAP, then when I woke up I turned off the APAP and then the oximeter recording

This morning I imported the APAP data into Sleepyhead then the oximeter data.

No matter which option I choose when importing I always end up with oximeter data that is several hours longer than the APAP data and I can't figure out why?

It's making me doubt whether the APAP and oximeter data is actually synced and therefore of any use.

Has anyone experienced similar or know how to fix or is just something I have to live with as Sleepyhead is still beta?

Further to my previous post when I select during the import that the oximetry session started at the same time as the APAP then it shows a session of the right length.

When I imported last night's oximetry data though it shows on the graphs as 7 hours too long past the APAP data and not only that it also has "fake" SPO2 events for the extra time so the number of events and associated calculations are all wrong.

which version of sleepyhead?

Have you tried loading the data into the supplied software?

In my opinion the instructions are pretty bad. I am looking for a product that is user friendly and doesn't hurt my finger if I keep it on all night. And if I do keep it on will give me accurate information since low O2 is a significant problem according to my sleep studies. Will see a specialist next week and hope to come up with a better plan. There must be something similar to what they give you for home studies. The oximetry probe was soft and painless as I recall and they are able to access the information. We have now purchased three versions of Contec including this one.

Skinnyfemale, I don't have any issues with it hurting my finger, maybe you just need to wear it for a bit to soften it up? Presumably the one you get from the specialist has been worn by others and therefore has softened up. I agree the included instructions aren't great but a bit of Googling and you can find clear instructions. I also believe the results to be accurate based on the reviews of others.

diamaunt, I'm using Sleepyhead v1.0.0-beta-2 in Windows 10 and yes I did import the data using the included software and it came up with correct length of the oximetry session so I'm stumped for now, guess I'll just have to compare them across the 2 pieces of software.

Unfortunately I cleared the oximetry data for today so can't provide Sleepyhead screenshots but once again the import showed the correct session length matching the APAP one but once imported and on the graphs the oximetry had a session length of 50 hours.

Ok, so I got it to work by loading the data into the SpO2 application then saving it to a file and importing that into Sleepyhead.

Yeah, the sleepyhead lead developer screwed up the direct import in 1.0.

Hopefully, the new oscar program will get it fixed, if not the first release (soon) then the one after it.

Thanks, makes sense why I couldn't get it work then and I wasn't just being dumb.

Will watch with interest to see what the new software is like.
