Hi,

This is my first post. So Hi everybody

I have an RESMED Airsense10 autoset CPAP device. The pressure is set from 4 - 20. The device is showing an average of 12 events (AHI) per hour. I have been using CPAP for ~2 month, before using it I wake up every night between 3 to 4 am go pee and then back to sleep. The first month with the device I slept all night. Latetly (2 weeks) I am waking up again around 4 am, sometimes I get back to sleep, some other times I just take the mask off to fall sleep.

My question is, since I have quite large range for pressure, will it works if I reduce the range? I read about sleepyhead app and I would like to review with which pressure I am sleeping better and then adjust the pressure range

What do you think? Will it work? Or it is like trial an error thing?

Thanks a lot for your feedback in advance

Dan

I forgot to mention that I am using a RESMED N20 mask, in case that helps.

Your min pressure is too low. 4 is too low for almost everybody. Leave the max at 20, raise the min some, 6-7 would be a good start, ... then post some screenshots.

Thanks a lot. I will do it.

One question regarding the graphs. I saw a reply from you to another member about some specific that we need to share when we ask for help. Do you mind to share which ones or the post that mention those? I try the search option but I am not really good at it.

Regards

Dan

We need a chart without the calendar, without the right hand panel, WITH the left hand panel, and showing the following 6 strip charts.

Flags,
Flow
Pressure
Leaks
Snores
Flow Limitations.

Thanks a lot.

I saw Mask Pressure and Pressure, so I add both, sorry if it is not what you requested.

Left menu was scrolled down on third image so you can see the rest of the info.

Please let me know If I need to provide anything else.

Regards
Dan

Ok, *one* chart per day please, just shrink the strips I asked for so that all six fit on the page, you can shrink the flags the most.

Pressure and Mask Pressure are redundant, I prefer to see pressure when I'm looking at a full night, and mask pressure when I've zoomed in and am looking at individual breaths.

At first glance, based on that one night, I'd say a minimum pressure of 9 is a good starting point. probably a little more, but that'd be a good place to start.

Thanks a lot.

I just realize that instructions to setup the graphs layout were on your signature.

The only thing that I can not do yet is to remove the pie graph. I read the instructions and it does not mention. Any tips?

diamaunt, I make the proper screenshot!!!

I will increase the low limit pressure as recomended, and I will report back, I guess I need to collect a couple of days of data, right?

Thanks a lot for your help and patience.

I see you figured it out before I got back here ;) well done. :)

That one screenshot gives us everything we need, most of the time... once in a while there'll be something else that someone will request, but by getting it arranged like that, you can make one screenshot per day, so it's a lot easier on you, and it takes us less time... (plus, for me, having all the strips in one shot makes it easier for me to glance up and down at specific times, to see what else was happening... "why did the pressure go up, was it apnea/hypopnea? was it snores? was it flow limitations? if it's in multiple screenshots, it's much harder for me to make the correlations.

Bump the pressure, and give us a screenshot tomorrow... I'm betting it'll be improved. :)

Hi,

Yesterday I had a rough day at office and could not upload my results.

As suggested I increase the pressure to 9 - 20 and my AHI was improved to around 5.

Attached you will find the graphs. Please let me know if you think I should adjust something else.

Thanks a lot!!!!

Hi,

I raise the min to 10 as suggested. Attached you will find results.

FYI, I only show the night results, as yesterday I also took a small nap but it was with min at 9. So the graphs only show the new data with min of 10 :D

Thanks a lot for your help, please let me know if I should adjust anything else, I was below 5 AHI for the first time since I use CPAP.....

That's what I like to see... :) Let's let it go for a few more days, and see how things average out, you might have just had a really good night, or that might be 'the new normal'.

Next time you don't want to show a brief session, instead of doing the partial zoom... just click on the sessions you don't want to see, on the lower left side, and it will turn them off. then the flags will line up with the other charts properly.

Hi,

After a long week below are the AHI per Day and last night graphs.

Sunday - 6.88
Monday - 4.00 It was Monday Night Football, some beers and wings
Tuesday - 7.37
Wednesday - 5.5
Thursday - 5.79

Looks like I improve from the double digits AHI I used to have to around 6AHI. However the outstanding 1.54 that I had on Saturday looks like just a realy nice night.

Do you have any suggestions?

I'd say, bump the min pressure to 12.

I just wonder what was different last saturday.

Hi,

Last night I had a really good night as well AHI 0.73 and well rested in the morning. Still with min pressure to 10 as previously set (I just saw your message to bump it to 12 this morning)

Do you think that stress from work may impact? Last week was kind of hard at the office, and by yesterday most of the issues were solved, but not sure if that is a factor.

If you do not mind, please take a look to last night graphs. And let me know your thoughts.

Stress will mess with sleep which in turns will mess with the flagged events if you don't sleep well and have some SWJ flagged events giving the impression of a higher AHI.
The other night I had a higher than normal AHI for me of around 2.0 over short hours of sleep (5 hours) and I use the term "sleep" lightly because I didn't sleep well because of pain. Lots of wake ups from the pain.
I took the time to go look at each flagged event and every single one of those flagged events weren't real. They were clearly awake/arousal flagged events and not real.
Do you know how to evaluate each flagged event to help decide if it was a real asleep event or awake event flagged by mistake?

Sleeping position will also affect pressure needs.
Maybe you weren't on your back last night as much last night.

Now that you mention, last night I slept with a bigger pillow. I will try again tonight and share the results.

If I go back to AHI 5's I will boost min pressure to 12 as suggested by diamaunt and report back.

keep you guys posted...

Thanks a lot for taking your time to follow up my case....
