This is just a rant. I waited 8 weeks for my follow up sleep study, and it was like a nightmare.

They didn't have any proper rooms available, so I had to sleep on an examination couch in one of the doctor's offices, among computers and desks and so on. They had fashioned a stand for one of the IR cameras from a curtain rail, and the other was just wedged against the back of the radiator.

The temperature in the room was boiling. The staff apologized for it, but said there was nothing they could do other than put a desk fan in there. My little alarm clock has a thermometer on it, and when I looked at the temperature at half past midnight, it was over 80 degrees in there.

Then throughout the night, there was slamming of doors and staff moving furniture around behind my room.

To top it off, the pulse oximiter burned my finger. I now have a large white blister on the end of it.

I was lying there thinking WTF is this?

I hardly slept at all. I'm going to see my doctor this week and ask to be given another sleep study elsewhere.

PAP Mask: Practically tried them all.
PAP Machine: Use Phillips Respironics System One APAP with Aflex for mask testing
Humidifier: None
Pressure Setting: When testing, I use APAP with a range of 5-10

That sounds like one of the worst experiences I've heard of. Slept on an office couch?

Unfortunately, this is one of the cursors of our socialized healthcare system. They don't have sufficient resources to put everyone in a proper sleep lab, so they just put people where they can.

It was an examination couch. It might have a different name in the US. Like this: http://www.gimaitaly.com/it/assets/altr ... /27613.jpg
