Is it possible that I was a teeth grinder before bipap and no longer grind since using the machine?
From what I understand about bruxism, no. That's something that you would continue to do. People with this condition in the lab continue even when CPAP is applied.
I've always used a chin strap and have been wondering if I can accomplish the same thing using a mouth guard.
Yes, that's the theory I have.
I just ordered it. If I could treat possible grinding and get off the chin strap I'd be happy. Any thoughts or recommendations?
Cool! I do think that you'll be happy. This is more of a proof of concept. If you find that it works really well, you may want to get one that's deeper and made with a different material. Best to talk to your dentist about this (after you find that it works).
Thanks for the forum and all that you do to help folks with sleep disorders. I'm pretty stoked to find this site.
