I was recently talking with a friend who is a dentist. He had just returned from a continuing ed seminar and was raving about the Vivos sleep apnea appliance (https://vivoslife.com/). I haven't heard of this device before, but their website doesn't impress. There's a lot of fluff and no real detail about how the device works. Looking at the research papers included, those directly relevant to this device were all authored by the same person, all involved small samples (in a couple of cases only one patient) and in all cases failed to deliver what I would consider adequate reduction in AHI. This is typical of every non-CPAP device I have informally reviewed.

The promise is that after a year or two of Vivos treatment, your face will have been remoulded to the extent that apnea no longer occurs. It promises a cure, where CPAP offers life-long treatment. I know a lot of people can't tolerate CPAP - I really don't like it myself - but it is proven to work well, is non-invasive and doesn't involve irreversible changes to your body. And is relatively cheap.
