It looks as though my new DreamStation Auto CPAP is expected to deliver tonight. I have never used any kind of CPAP therapy before. I have been watching a lot of Jason's videos and I am wondering if using A-flex will help me with the transition into therapy? Any other suggestions you may have for a first timer? BTW I will be using the DreamWare full-face mask.

Thank you in advance!

When you get your machine try it with all the Flex settings including off and just use whichever is the most comfortable and feels more natural to you in terms of letting you breathe more normally (or as normally as we can with all this stuff).

I liked AFlex...liked it a lot and the setting of 2 matched my own respiration rate nearly perfectly.
Didn't care for CFlex at all...just didn't ever feel right.
Flex exhale relief auto adjusts a bit to your own breathing...the force of your own breathing will affect the amount and timing of the reduction during exhale.

Since we all breathe a bit differently there's no way to compare your breathing to mine and it might be totally different so what works well for me might be a disaster for you.

So...just play with all the settings and there is even a demo available in the setup menu so you can experiment easily.
If you don't get the manual that explains how to get into the clinical set up menu area or that is turned off when you get the machine...
go here and request the clinical/provider manual via email and read up on how to get to the secret setup menu area as well as the other features on your machine.

The user manual normally given doesn't cover the good stuff.

Play with it while awake without being under any pressure to go to sleep.
Use it for a while just to get used to it...watching TV or reading.

This is wonderful advice! Thank you so much for the recommendations. Looks like I will spend a little time tinkering with it before just jumping in to bed.

Thank you again!
