As the title says how often do companies come out with new CPAP models? I am going to be taking a home sleep test and will be given the choice of the Airsense 10 autoset or the Dreamstation auto and I have settled on the Airsense for a few reasons. But I was just thinking thatachine has been out since the end of 2014 if I am seeing that correctly? That makes me wonder if Resmed has a new machine in the works? Not that it really matters but I was just curious how often they release new machines.

Here lately it seems to be running about 4 or 5 years between model changes.
They always keep it hush hush though until the last minute.
They might release a new model next month...but I seriously doubt it.

I started therapy in mid 2009 and with ResMed the S8 was the top dog. I don't know how long it was top dog...4 or 5 years probably.
They came out with the S9 in 2010 ...then the AirSense 3 years ago.

Respironics is similar in the timing.

Typically they roll out one particular model and then shortly after start releasing other models one at a time.

Significant changes are released gradually in many products.
Standard business practice.
I would not imagine xpap to be any different.
One version up is usually not enough improvement to delay treatment.
Often changes are primarily cosmetic.
My money says get the best you can NOW,
Upgrades will come when they come.
